The chase

Chasing the winds of ambitions I try flying high, leaping higher to touch the bright blue sky,

Leaving behind the gold, to glitter like gold, to reach great heights, growing multifold,

Everyday I want some more, finding a new me without changing the inner-most core,

One day I realize the desired dream of my mind, at the cost of leaving the true me behind.

  1. I love how you wrote this! So profound! This sadly happens to a lot of people. It’s not intentional, but we get so caught up following our desires we lose sight of how it’s changing us sometimes. Your poetry is amazing! What a gift! 😊

  2. Ahh, such a beautiful piece and so wise! The heart wants what the heart wants and sometimes the costs are high?? True for you and art? The mind and the heart battle over the proper course to follow and there are regrets and wonderings no matter who wins a decision. Loved your line – “Chasing the winds of ambition”!!
