That one moment

That one moment in life,

Changes everything right?

Like that bright spot,

On the canvas of life,

Painted by the time,

Leaving a memory,

That freezes you there,

Lighting up your life,

On the swing of time.

  1. Deceptively simple, Chitkala, until you get to the last four lines:
    Leaving a memory,
    That freezes you there,
    Lighting up your life,
    On the swing of time.
The “swing of time” ties together the other images, capturing the “springtime” feel of your poem. Ah, a fellow Romantic.
By the way, thank you for reading my “Sins of the Grandfather” play in free-verse. I think you’ll enjoy the concluding scene, tomorrow.

  2. To me, the essence of living in the present is seeing the starlight from some distant star and reflecting on that light gracing one’s retina in that very instant! Whoops! Got carried away. For my purpose of coming here was to pass on my thanks for your recent decision to follow Learning from Dogs! Thank you!!
