Women’s day was celebrated with a great zeal and enthusiasm. Everywhere every person talked about women empowerment. Men conveyed their best wishes to women on that day. But I have a few questions to raise. I feel we all need to think about it in a different way.
Women made themselves feel and look special but how many women treat themselves well every day? How many women break the imprisonment of ‘beauty’ and try to look beautiful like a human being by making their heart beautiful instead of their face? Instead of flaunting their beauty why shouldn’t they flaunt their intellect and their talent everyday being more human than a woman? How many women make even a little effort to be emotionally, physically and socially strong and self-sufficient? How many men ever realize what circus their sisters, wives, daughters and mothers go through while they balance their careers, pursue their dreams and keep their families happy. The point is how many of you, men or women try to reduce the stress induced by these expectations? There is no problem with celebrations but I rarely see the empowerment being implemented on a daily basis.
The real empowerment will materialize only when men and women both will be empowered. It is not just women who need it. Men should be empowered to understand women. They should be strengthened to empathize with the responsibilities bestowed upon women by nature. They should be trained to understand the intellectual, emotional and esteem needs of their counterparts. They should be empowered to establish gender balance by understanding the strengths and weaknesses of both genders, and reduce gender bias.
The time is to change the perspective of society from woman as a specially treated gender to a more humanly treated gender.

This is making sense to a growing number of humans, as the way to avoid such dreck as “What about the men?” Life cannot go on as a seesaw, in perpetuity. It must be a side-by-side sallying forth.
