Once upon a time

Once upon a time my smile reflected in your eyes and so did my tears,

The delicate moments between our blushes bloomed flowers which bathed us in their perfume,

Today those memories have vanished in the sand storm which stood between your charm and me,

Seperating our souls forever…

The storms attacked the sand dunes of my heart breaking it into pieces,

Shackling my emotions that once flowed from my heart to yours,

But today my heart stands strong like the desert in the hot scorching sun of realities,

Where my delicate serene skin is burnt brown,

I am dry and arid like the land untouched with a drop of love passion,

Yes, I am waterless, passionless, and loveless perhaps even hesitant to love now,

The storm took away from me every last droplet of water,

You carried those droplets of passion you had sprinkled on me making me green once..

Your clouds have taken them away blown by the wind and even my liveliness,

The same wind now pours your passion adding sparkle to some green somewhere..

No longer do I long for your love nectar for it is no longer mine,

The clouds will pass over me leaving behind the fragrance of your nectar,

The hot and cool breezes of your memories will blow over me,

Yet I will be strong and unshaken forgetting what loving felt like once upon a time..

  1. Perhaps it feels so bad when the little moment of your happiness, the moment you thought would last forever, in the end, turns out to be the biggest deception.
